Communications Specialist – Stern Speakers

Stern Speakers, the literary and lecture arm of Stern + Associates, has an immediate full-time opening for an energetic and motivated Communications Specialist. We’re looking for a pro with business writing prowess, light web coding ability, and solid experience in social media to grow and maintain our clients’ online presence. This role is ideal for candidates interested in the speakers/lecture industry, a desire to learn new topics quickly, and willingness to support various aspects of the organization.

Established and rapidly growing, Stern Speakers supports leading, internationally renowned business authorities for their speaking engagements and literary work.

  • Duties include comprehending/synthesizing complex information and translating it into compelling copy, updating form letters and website content, keeping Twitter and Facebook pages current with information about our speaker clients, managing website SEO initiatives, and supporting administrative functions.
  • Ideal candidates have 3+ years experience in business writing, social media engagement, SEO knowledge relating to social media including content link-building strategy, and light web coding. Keen technical understanding, strong critical thinking, and ability to pick up new tools quickly are required.  Must exhibit understanding of worldly themes; be curious, proactive and flexible in accommodating change; work effectively under pressure; and have excellent verbal and written communication, multi-tasking, organization and time management skills.

Digital Project Traffic Manager

An efficient, detail-oriented and self-motivated project traffic manager will serve as the primary contact point between digital department, clients and account staff to ensure world-class service standards in a fast-paced environment.

  • Duties include managing numerous projects within a growing department’s workflow; ensuring that all client and agency projects are prioritized, tracked and delivered on time; maintaining cross-team communication to facilitate understanding of projects at all phases; and working  with department VP to assess creative resources and needs against current/upcoming project objectives.
  • Ideal candidates have 2+ years in a project/traffic management function and will demonstrate strong organizational, prioritization and time management skills; solid command of project management tools and Microsoft Office; the ability to develop/ update project timelines, anticipate/mediate work-flow problems; proficiency in Microsoft Office; and excellent verbal, written communication, and client relations skills. Candidates must be inquisitive and proactive; flexible in accommodating rapid change; effective when working under pressure; able to manage diplomatically and firmly; thrive in a team environment; and have an appreciation for the creative process.
  • While this is an administrative position, experience managing web development, design, research, programming and/or video production is a plus.

Digital Marketing Specialist

We’re seeking an entrepreneurial, creative and self-motivated digital marketing specialist with commitment to world-class service standards in a fast-paced environment. This hybrid position requires executing digital programs that assist in achieving clients’ communications goals, ranging from full web platform strategy and development to social media, internet advertising and/or digital content syndication and SEO. This is a role for a generalist with light coding experience who is well-versed, skilled in, and passionate about digital communications.

  • Part strategist, part hands-on tactician, ideal candidates have 3+ years experience in a digital strategy/development function, and demonstrate a strong understanding of the intersection of digital, business and creativity to drive brand communication across all media – websites, mobile, social, multimedia applications, email campaigns and more. Light coding experience in HTML5, PHP, CSS, and proven ability in WordPress implementation, SEO and internet marketing practices are required, as is the ability to interpret marketing analytics, distill actionable recommendations and communicate them clearly. Candidates will monitor industry trends in digital marketing, measurement, etc. and appropriately apply knowledge for clients.
  • Must be curious and proactive; flexible in accommodating rapid change; effective when working under pressure; thrive in a team environment; and able to effectively manage multiple projects with several account teams simultaneously. Strong critical thinking (analytical, creative), time management/prioritization, and verbal/written communication skills required. Experience in Adobe Creative Suite 5 and graphic design a plus.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years experience servicing B2B PR/marketing accounts, writing compelling copy, generating in-depth strategic media coverage within top-tier business media outlets, and creating/implementing strategic, integrated communications programs aligned with client business goals.

  • Strong client relations/counsel, organizational and multi-tasking skills are required. Related agency experience is a plus.
